High Water Run Marathon Race
The race runs 13 km from Sesekinika to Kenogami Lake on the winding Blanche River. The river has good depth and there are no portages or whitewater. The course is suitable for all skill levels. The race gives a taste of a small part of what the voyagers and early explorers experienced when they used this same route to reach Arctic Watershed in order to access Hudson’s Bay. Over the years the race has had its legends with people that won year after year, as well as legends of people spilling their canoes many times while racing to the finish. Part of the race is a poker run and the organizers describe the race route as family friendly. Any proceeds, after expenses, go to supporting the Northern Prospectors’ Association, which is a registered Not-for-profit organization.
