Andreas Dittmer marked the history of sprint canoeing and inspired thousands of young athletes around the world. The 4-time German Olympian is now leading the Canadian men’s canoe sprint team.

During his career, Andreas dominated sprint canoeing by winning five medals at the Olympic Games, including 3 golds in C-2 1000m (1996), C-1 1000m (2000) and C-1 500m (2004). He is also an 8-time World Champion and has won a total of 22 medals at the World Championships between 1991 and 2004.

Andreas joined Canada’s national coaching team in 2018 and has had great success with the Men’s Canoe team at the 2018/2019 Senior World Championships, the 2019 Pan American Championships and the 2019 Pan American Games.
