Canoe Kayak Canada is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from venues and organizing committees interested in hosting the 2026 Canadian Whitewater National Championships. This premier national event will bring together athletes from across the country to compete in the slalom, downriver, freestyle and potentially canoe polo disciplines.
Event Timing
The preferred dates for the championships are August 3–9, 2026, with an alternate window of August 10–16, 2026 is also under consideration.
Venue Requirements
Interested host sites must demonstrate the capacity to successfully accommodate:
- Canoe Slalom and Kayak Cross competition on an appropriate course
- Downriver racing on suitable stretch of river
- Freestyle competition with a playable hole or wave
Venues should also have adequate infrastructure to support athletes, officials, volunteers, and spectators, including access, safety provisions, accommodations, and logistics.
How to Submit
Organizations or committees interested in hosting are asked to submit their Expression of Interest by June 23, 2025. The submission should include:
- A brief overview of the venue and facilities
- Details on experience hosting whitewater events (if any)
- Proposed dates and schedule overview
- Community and volunteer support
- Contact information for the organizing lead
