Canoe Kayak Canada is pleased to welcome the Government of Canada’s funding support for two marquee international events coming to Canada this summer: the ICF Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Cup/Pan American Championships in Montréal, and the ICF Junior (U18) and U23 World Championships in Halifax.
This investment reflects a shared commitment to high-performance sport and to ensuring Canadian athletes can compete on home soil at the highest level of international competition. Hosting these events strengthens our pipeline from development athletes through to senior podium contenders and puts Canada at the centre of the global paddling community.
“Federal support like this is what makes it possible to bring world-class competition to Canadian communities and give our athletes the experience of racing at home in front of their families and fans,” said Canoe Kayak Canada CEO, Casey Wade. “From our next generation of junior paddlers in Halifax to our Olympic and Paralympic contenders in Montréal. Thank you to the Government of Canada for believing in this sport.”
