13 Canadian Athletes Competed at the 2017 ICF Canoe Freestyle World Championships in San Juan, Argentina
OTTAWA, ONTARIO (December 4, 2017) – The ICF Canoe Freestyle World Championships were held from November 27 to December 2 in San Juan, Argentina. Nick Troutman and Devyn Scott managed to make it to the quarter-finals, and Kalem Kennedy made it to the semi-finals.
The Canoe Freestyle World Championships took place at the « White Water » Park, downstream of the Ullum Dam on the San Juan River in Argentina. Organized by the International Canoe Federation (ICF), the competition was spread over five (5) days.
Kalem Kennedy (Pembroke, ON) made it to the men’s Squirt semi-final. Despite his good performance, he was unable to reach the final but finished 7th in the semi.
Nicholas Troutman (Beachburg, ON) And Devyn Scott (Pakenham, ON) both made it to the quarter-finals in the men’s K1 event finishing 12th and 16th, respectively.
