The Canadian canoe kayak sprint team completed the 2018 International Canoe Federation World Cup 2 bringing home a total of 5 medals and a new world record after taking part in more than twenty finals over the weekend.

“These two World Cups were a good measure of the improvement we were looking for over last year’s results,” explain Graham Barton, Chief Technical Officer at Canoe Kayak Canada. “It was another good step in the right direction”.

“Of course, Laurence and Katie’s results were impressive, but there were many great finals for the rest of our team today and over the weekend,” he added. “Now it is time to assess our performances and fine tune our preparation for those athletes who will compete at the Junior/U23 World Championships at the end of July and at the Senior World Championships in August.”
