Why an Alumni Committee?
Many of us have spent numerous years of our lives with so many family and friends paddling around our communities/provinces/country and world. We have made lifelong friends and we feel that we should continue to stay connected through our sport organization, Canoe Kayak Canada.
Everyone who has participated/volunteered/officiated…anyone who’s contributed to our sport is an alumni!
We would love you all to continue to be part of our amazing Canoe Kayak family and to continue to share our passion for paddling. All alumni are invited to our annual Sprint Nationals Alumni Celebration which we combine with the Sprint Canadian Masters Meet and Greet each year.
We hope to continue the tradition of the silent auction as we did last year in Welland and moving forward we hope to have other alumni celebrations at various discipline events to bring us all together, throughout the year.
Our 3 initiatives for the immediate future will be:

We Paddle Month in June, wrapping up on June 26 with National Paddle Day in Canada

Continue to host our Nationals Alumni/CanMas Celebration

Philanthropic Plan
– build our connections/database with our Alumni members
– recommend sprint/WW members to the CKC Awards and Recognition Committee for nomination to the Canadian Sport Hall of Fame
