Kingston to Ottawa 200

The Kingston to Ottawa 200 (K2O) Paddling Race is an ultra endurance marathon paddling race through a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Rideau Canal waterway. Starting from the Cataraqui Canoe Club in Kingston and ending at the Rideau Canoe Club in Ottawa; racers face the challenge of completing the full 200-km distance within a 36 hour time limit or an alternative 100KM half marathon within a 24 hour limit. The upcoming 2018 edition of the K2O will also introduce 25km and 50km formats presenting a challenge for skill levels of all kinds – recreational/novice, intermediate, intermediate, competitive, and weekend warriors alike.

Racers will navigate day and night through flat water conditions on bodies of lakes, rivers, and canals with support crews also allowed at portages (21 in total) along the race route. All types of non-fixed paddle crafts are allowed in the race however, no crafts with sails or pedals are permitted. Examples of non-fixed paddle crafts are: canoes, kayaks, SUPs, voyageur/north canoes, surf skis, etc. Paddlers can challenge the race as soloists, tandems, or in teams of 3 or more paddlers, The K2O makes its mark as Ontario’s longest non-stop paddling marathon and the only race in the province to offer prize money.
