Emily has been paddling ever since she can remember and started competing very early just for fun. She competed at the 2010 team trials in Alberta and became part of the Junior team as an alternate. She then secured a spot on the Junior team at the following team trials in Minden, ON in 2012 and went on to compete at a demo competition for the cadet category at the 2012 World Cup in Bryson City North Carolina. In 2013, she competed at the World Championships as a junior and placed 8th.
