Shaunna Kent

Birthdate: December 8 1987
Hometown: Greenfield Park, Quebec
Residence: Petawawa Ontario
Sport: Squirt

Shaunna has been whitewater kayaking since 2011 when she started with a local club, the Petawawa River Rats. Less than a year later she started squirt boating in a borrowed boat and fell in love with the sport, bought a boat of her own and hasn’t looked back since. In 2012 she made the Canadian Freestyle kayak team to compete for Canada at the 2013 worlds at the Nantahala Outdoor center placing 12th overall in the women’s division and at the World Downtime championships that same year on the Leslie in Tennessee where she placed 3rd out of the women’s division. Having made the team again through the Jimi Cup competition in which she placed 3rd out of the women in 2014, she looks forward to competing on her home river, the Ottawa, in Beachburg Ontario in the 2015 world championships. Kayaking has become her passion and she often volunteers to take new paddlers down rivers to teach them the ropes and is always open to letting those who are curious about squirt boating, try her boat.
